How to Qualify
As long as you become a My Starbucks Rewards member at least 30 days before your birthday, you’ll qualify for a free beverage or treat and 15% off online purchases. You’ll get an email reminder a few days before your big day, then you can visit a Starbucks and scan your mobile app to redeem your reward. This automatically puts you at the Welcome Level, and all you need to do to maintain that status is earn at least one Star per year.
Membership Tiers
The rewards you’re eligible for depend on your ranking in the My Starbucks Rewards system. Here’s a quick breakdown of the benefits and freebies each tier offers:
- Welcome Level — You’ve signed up for free and you’ll start earning Stars for your purchases. You’ll also be eligible for a free birthday treat once per year as a Welcome Level member.
- Green Level — Just 5 Stars get you into the Green Level, which adds free in-store refills on top of yearly birthday rewards.
- Gold Level — The upper level gives you a personalized Gold Card, a free drink or treat after every 12 Stars, and exclusive offers for Gold Level members only.
