Free Airplane Flights for Young Eagles
Kids who get used to airplanes early on tend to be better flyers in life. Here's how you or your child can take a free introductory flight thanks to the EAA.
The sensation of flying is almost indescribable, and when you get to experience it at a young age, you just might fall in love. The Young Eagles program helps kids explore their interest in aviation and find out if it could be a lifelong passion. They even take kids aged 8 to 17 on their first flight, which is a fun kids’ freebie they'll remember forever.
How to Become a Young Eagle
The Young Eagles program is changing lives around the world. First, enter your state so you can find a coordinator in your area. That person will put you in touch with a Young Eagles pilot, who will be the one to schedule your first flight.
Your Young Eagles pilot will go over what to expect during the flight and show you around the aircraft. Then you’ll get a tour of the interior before you take off for a 15- to 20-minute flight, and you’ll have an opportunity to ask your pilot questions when you land.
Continuing Flight
Your Young Eagle may develop a continuing interest in aviation, in which case you’re already in prime position to show your support! The Young Eagles program can be your child’s gateway to scholarships, internships, and a career in the aviation industry.
